Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Support the implementation of campaigns or initiatives in the Communications area, the thematic units of IOM Ecuador, campaigns at the regional or global offices or 
    campaigns with organizations, allied institutions, and agencies of the United Nations System.
  2. Provide general support to the implementation of the Country Communications strategy, overall, in the digital and visibility components of the mission.
  3. Support the implementation of different visibility activities of the mission in digital channels such as: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and the website (among 
    others).
  4. Act as Community focal point of IOM Ecuador's social networks, this involves publishing, monitoring, apply active listening to the digital community and offer  previously approved responses to comments and direct messages.
  5. Participate in the planning of the monthly content grid for the social networks of the mission.
  6. Support in the photographic and audiovisual record of activities on field, to create content for IOM Ecuador's social networks.
  7. Organize the digital repository of information (bank of photos, videos, etc.).
  8. Support with logistical and operational aspects in the projects or activities of the communication area. 
  9. Participate in the analysis of digital media and digital statistics that will be used for the development of communication strategies and campaigns.
  10. Being a focal point for digital campaigns within the mission, interagency or counterparts.
  11. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education
  •  High school diploma with 4 years of professional experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in communication (preferably in social communication, advertising, 
    or marketing) with 2 years of relevant professional experience or Specialization courses or diplomas in Digital Communication, Digital Marketing or Community Management. 
  • Certification in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience related to the functions required for the position.
  • Experience as Community Manager and specialist in digital communication in social  organizations.
  • Practical experience in the generation of digital content.
  • Practical knowledge in audiovisual production, graphic design, web tools or similar.
  • Management of photo and video camera (semi-professional).
  • Knowledge about different communication channels (social networks, ATL, face-toface communication, printed communication materials).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Management of Office programs (office 365).
  • Experience in coordination with the United Nations system, public sector, private 
    sector and/or civil society organizations.
  • Work experience in the IOM or in the United Nations System will be an asset. 
  • Experience in issues related to human mobility, migration management and/or  relations with migrant population will be an asset. 
Skills
  • Good capacity for analysis, synthesis, writing and communication. Ability to coordinate with government entities, international organizations, and civil society.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational relationships. 
  • Initiative, personal commitment motivated by results, efficiency, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with a group of colleagues with cultural variety and from different professional areas.
  • Ability to organize and plan multiple tasks and in short times.
Languages
  • For this position, fluency in Spanish is required (oral and written). 
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
