Job Description

Responsibilities
- Assist in the appropriate preparation of inputs, collecting them from different units and field offices to elaborate project proposals and contribute with donor liaison documents.
- Assist in the preparation and review of strategic documents, such as project proposals and talking points, to maintain adherence to projects objective and donor requirements.
- Contribute to timely and accurate reporting including monthly, interim, and final reports for projects implemented by the Mission in Ecuador based on program objectives, work plans, and timelines set by project documents.
- Support the Office of Partnerships with technical and administrative tasking to plan and implement initiatives aimed at positioning IOM in Ecuador and provide support in the preparation of meetings and other consultations with donors, including assisting in the preparation of notes, briefs, and other materials.
- Support the Office of Partnerships unit on knowledge management and keep accurate and pertinent records of all correspondence, project development and reporting files, relevant databases and other Project Development and Reporting-related information.
- Support to data processing and monitoring activities by assisting in the collection, consolidation, and sharing of information with sub-offices and thematic units to support the implementation of projects at the mission.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with 2 years of professional experience; or
- School diploma with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Experience in the development of project proposal, technical writing, preferably in the international development/humanitarian sector;
- Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.); and
- Work experience in donor relations and/or the UN System would be an advantage.
Skills
- Knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.
- Knowledge in project management in line with the IOM Project Handbook.
- Knowledge and experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
Languages
- For this position, fluency in Spanish and English is required (oral and written).
- IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
- Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
