Project Context and Scope
IOM Ukraine implements the Housing Project with KfW in selected cities of GCA of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which aim is to provide a surplus to affordable, modern and energy efficient housing stock making it available for accommodation by vulnerable categories among IDPs and locals. Technical expertise required for making of design for residential buildings. Engineer designer of Structure.
The Structure Design Engineer will develop design documentation (calculations, drawings, materials’ specifications, cost estimation and other construction documents) and provide designer’s supervision of construction works.

Responsibilities
Tasks to be performed under this contract
- Assist the National Project Officer (Architect) in making a Structure design required for the stages “P” and “R”.
- Draft documentation including preparation of engineering/architectural plans, drawings, specifications, scope of work, schedule of work, bill of quantities, cost estimates and any other necessary technical documents.
- Provide all necessary documentation in related fields and assist the National Project Officer (Architect) to receive all necessary permits for construction works as required by national legislation.
- In coordination with the National Project Officer (Architect), support the field engineering team to ensure efficient and effective execution of works, complying with all technical requirements of IOM.
- In coordination with the National Project Officer (Architect), plan and organize site visits to ensure that the project is implementing according to approved design documentation (designer’s supervising).
- Provide technical support to the National Project Officer (Architect) by reviewing or preparing specifications and other construction related procurement documents.
- Assist in compiling regular reports as required, collecting, analyzing and summarizing information on various aspects of the project, including financial, technical and schedule compliance.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
- Structure anylsis is provided by using relevant software;
- Engineering drawings are done by using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, ArchiCAD;
- Relevant engineering installations/works are supervised by the Consultant.
- Monthly Timesheets and report on works completed are regularly provided to IOM.
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent in civil engineering or a related field in Ukraine with at least four years of professional experience;
- Certification as a licensed professional engineer is required.
Experience
- Experience in Structure design;
- Experience in design of residential building construction;
- Excellent user of professional design software. Excellent drawing skills and familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Architecture including combination of files and sections in the AutoCAD Project system; 3D space modelling, detailed design development.
Skills
- Excellent knowledge of urban planning and enginering design;
- Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, building products and best practices related to project.
Languages
- Working knowledge of English, native Ukrainian
Travel required
- Yes.
