Job Description

Under the overall supervision of the of the Head of Office (HoO) in Tirana and direct supervision of the Program Coordinator and Development Officer, and in close coordination with WBs Communication Officer and ROV Media and Communication department, the successful candidate will assist in the implementation of media and communications initiatives.
 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:


•    Handle information and data related to projects and activities, maintain multimedia and content archive libraries, and ensure timely updates across internal databases.
•    Support with  drafting of situational reports, fact sheets, newsletters, briefing notes, speeches, donor communications reports, communications and visibility strategies and work plans. 
•    Support knowledge management and internal communication sharing among the country team, ensuring relevant data, updates, and products are disseminated effectively and securely.
•    Support the  drafting and dissemination of public information content including articles, press releases, web and social media content, infographics and audio-visual materials on the mission’s key activities, impact and achievements. 
•    Support the management of the IOM Albania online presence, by  coordinating information and awareness-raising campaigns, updating and maintaining the missions’ website,  uploading approved social media content across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X and monitoring performance metrics. 
•    Support operations and field activities with information flow, documentation, interview of project beneficiaries for human-interest stories and organization of communication events. 
•    Liaise with media practitioners, to enhance visibility of the mission’s work and to promote balanced and credible coverage of migration issues and assist in planning, development and delivery of capacity building initiatives for media stakeholders.
•    Monitor media coverage of the mission’s work and other media developments on migration.
•    Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education

•    University degree in Communications, Journalism, Social Sciences, Information Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or


•    High school degree in the above fields with six years of relevant professional experience.


Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

 
Experience

•    Previous work experience in the field of media and communications, public relations, social media communications 
•    Previous working experience with NGOs or international organizations is considered an advantage.
•    Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) is mandatory and knowledge of web page design, graphic software such as Adobe photoshop and illustrator, Adobe Suite (in Design, Illustrator, Premiere), multimedia design and processing and publishing software proficiency in social media is an advantage. 
 

Skills

•    In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
•    Good verbal, written, interpersonal skills and creativity. 
•    Strong presentation and communications, time management and organizational skills. 
•    Ability and willingness to work under pressure. 
 

Languages
  • Fluency in English and Albanian (oral and written).
