Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Programme Development & Implementation

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of counter-trafficking projects, including victim assistance, prevention, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Support the coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of services and alignment with national frameworks.
  • Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), referral mechanisms, and protection protocols.

Partnership & Coordination

  • Support liaison and information sharing with government agencies, NGOs, and UN partners to enhance coordination efforts.
  • Participate technical working groups, task forces, and inter-agency meetings related to counter-trafficking, as requested by supervisor.

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project activities and support timely reporting of progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Draft donor reports, briefing notes, and internal updates as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to data collection and analysis for evidence-based programming.

Capacity Building & Awareness

  • Support the organization and facilitation of training workshops for relevant government and non-government actors.
  • Contribute to public awareness campaigns and outreach activities targeting at-risk populations.

Resource Mobilization

  • Contribute to the development of concept notes, and proposals for new funding opportunities.
  • Assist in donor liaison and visibility activities, as appropriate.

Other Duties

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
  • Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields.
Experience
  • Experience in counter-trafficking, migration, human rights, or protection programming.
  • Experience in supporting project implementation in coordination with government institutions, NGOs, or UN agencies.
  • Familiarity with national and international legal frameworks on trafficking in persons.
Skills
  • Good understanding of project implementation and reporting processes.
  • Strong coordination skills, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Languages

For this position, fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required (oral and written).

IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Notes
