Title: Programme Budget Specialist.
Level: P3
Reports to: Chief, Planning, Monitoring and Reporting
Duration: 3 months

Location: Abuja Nigeria
Dates/Duration: Stretch assignment from 2nd January to 31st March 2026.
Eligibility: All Fixed-Term, Permanent or continuing appointment UNICEF staff members currently working in UNICEF worldwide.

This stretch assignment will be for a period of three (3) months.
Key expected results
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
- Advanced University degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, General administration, Development studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field of discipline.
 
- Minimum five years of relevant professional work experience in Programme management and budgeting.
 - Work experience in international organization in the relevant area is an asset
 - Work experience on EU financial reporting is considered an asset
 - Experience in the usage of office software MS package and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
 - Experience in SAP is required.
 
- Required familiarity with enterprise content management systems like Microsoft SharePoint etc.
 - Experience in planning, monitoring and data management in the humanitarian or development field will be asset.
 - Excellent interpersonal skills - culturally and socially sensitive, ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels.
 - Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment, and in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
 - Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision and to work under tight deadlines.
 
Funding arrangement
This is a temporary development opportunity and there will be no changes to the staff member’s status (position number, level, etc.).
The Office will cover the ticket for economy class travel and 100% of the UN DSA rate during the first two weeks and 50% DSA for the remaining time.
